Richard Lancaster

Richard's formative years were spent in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, where he developed a strong affinity for hunting and fishing. His interest in fly fishing emerged at an early age, and he acquired his first fly rod at the age of thirteen. Lacking formal instruction, Richard diligently observed other anglers and self-taught the nuances of the craft.

In 2018, Richard relocated to Bishop, California, along with his wife and three children. There, he undertook a career as a wildland firefighter, yet it was the allure of the local water and mountains that ultimately attracted him to this remarkable valley. Throughout his life, he has frequently taken on instructional roles in various capacities. Whether in the realms of firefighting, professional mountain biking, or motorcycle racing, Richard has consistently found fulfillment in imparting his knowledge and skills to others.

Consequently, it was a natural progression for him to engage in guiding others in the art of fly fishing and hunting. For Richard, the most rewarding aspect of his endeavors is witnessing the joy and enthusiasm of individuals as he helps them create meaningful memories in the Eastern Sierra.
